Summary of the Jan. 16 Session Meeting

The Session approved the 2023 budget and it will be presented at the Congregational Meeting on Sunday, Jan. 22 after worship. The congregation will vote on the 2023 Pastor’s Terms of Call following the presentation. All church members are urged to attend.

In other business:

  • Finance Committee Chair Jeff Bloom reported the church exceeded its 2022 revenue goal and commended all Session committee chairs for the fiscal responsibility that resulted in a net savings of 5% of budgeted expenses. He also revealed that 45% of 3rd Capital Campaign pledges were received in the first year of the current 3-year campaign, which he called “awesome news” as those monies go toward paying down the principal on our Ministry Expansion Plan mortgage.
  • The Session voted to re-elect the following officers to serve another year as the Board of Trustees: President, Jeff Bloom; Vice President, Rick Mills; Treasurer, Bob Ashman; and Secretary, Janene Holzberg.
  • Also re-elected to one-year terms were: Bob Ashman and Joyce Danzig as church treasurer and assistant treasurer; Janene Holzberg as Clerk of Session; Judy Brown as Nominating Committee Chair; and Don Mitchell as Personnel Committee Chair.
