The CMPC Session voted to update the 2017 appraisal of the church’s adjacent properties on the north and south of the building to prepare for any possible discussion of selling land to reduce the principal of the loan from PILP. Any sale must be approved by the congregation and all proceeds are required by our lender to go toward paying down the principal of the loan.
In other business:
- A second confidential congregational survey was approved with a dual purpose: to gauge church members’ opinions on returning to worship service and other activities inside the building sometime in the future, and to check in again on how everyone is faring during the pandemic. The survey was scheduled to launch online March 16 or 17.
- Discussion of the timing of a 3rd Capital Campaign, which is required by our mortgage lender, continued. Whether to hire a campaign consultant, as we did for our previous campaigns, or manage the campaign in-house is still under review.
