Groundbreaking On Sunday, November 18, immediately following worship, members and friends of CMPC gathered on the west lawn to break ground for the Ministry Expansion Plan. This event was long awaited and eagerly anticipated. As the crowd gathered in the cold amongst the small crosses decorated by the children of the church and placed to outline the new addition, Rev. Hoffman and…
Cirque Du Soleil, Traveling Troubadours, Ministry Tour, and “other ideas” were the Visionfest options listed when our team gathered to plan for Sunday, November 11. Our assignment was to help our congregation envision the likely impact of our ministry expansion plan. We had trouble with the Cirque Du Soleil idea as we tried to imagine our pastor on crazy high stilts…
DID YOU KNOW . . . . ? Lovingly submitted by Alice Gretsch, for the Herald, 2007. Reprinted and edited for 2018. Did you know that the Collegiate dictionary defines the word chain as “something that binds” and the Bible dictionary simply defines this word as a “band”? Did you know that the Collegiate dictionary defines the word prayer as “a devout petition…
Dear mission friends, We have been very negligent with newsletters this year. Partly, our internet and electric connections have been worse than usual for the past two years and especially the past one year. It has been very frustrating that way. One of those times was the several weeks that the whole country was cut off the internet because of the 12th…

In the last week of June, CMPC hosted our “Shipwrecked! Jesus rescues!” vacation bible school. More than 115 preschoolers and elementary schoolers learned about Jesus’ power to rescue when we are sad, lonely or going through a tough time. Children participated in crafts, bible time, recreation, videos, singing, dancing, and amazing snacks throughout the week. The VBS team couldn’t have done it…
What a successful day this group had making some repairs and updates for a special lady. Brent Jones, our leader, did a stellar job of picking a house and organizing the helper and supplies to do some much needed work for a neighbor in need. We had a talented and plentiful team who worked inside and out. The yard work included weeding,…
Greetings once again, all! For the month of July, while the asbestos is removed from the second half of the building, we will shift our worship service to Atholton Elementary School. The school is located less than a mile from the church at 6700 Seneca Dr, Columbia, MD 21046. Parking is available in front of and behind the building as well as at Atholton Park…
Dear Brothers and Sisters of CMPC, I write to you with the exciting news for which we have all been waiting for years now: the Ministry Expansion Plan is about to get underway! There are still plenty of details to iron out, but we are working closely with the architects and general contractors to begin the work in the preschool area and…
