Here’s what has happened in the last week:
- The concrete for the stairs in the new entrance was poured
- The walls were cut for the new passageways between the downstairs hallway and the new Shaker drive addition, between the lower level of the new Shaker Drive addition and the old choir robing room, and between the upper level of the new Shaker Drive addition and the narthex
- The pews have been reinstalled in the sanctuary
- The new wall of the old committee room was moved and drywalled
- The carpet has been installed in the church office
- The vinyl floor tiles have been installed in the old FISH room
- The landing and ramp in the lower level of the new Shaker Drive addition have been partially framed
- The hallway of the lower level of the new Shaker Drive addition has been partially framed
- The exterior doors were added to the new entrance
- The sidewalk and step in front of and leading to the new entrance were poured
- Railings have been installed in the new entrance
Here’s what is scheduled to happen in the next week (or so):
- The work in the sanctuary will be completed by Friday
- Work will begin on the new site lights in the parking lot
- The storm drain on the Shaker Drive side will be installed
- The roof on the new Shaker Drive addition will be installed
- Demolition work will continue in Fellowship Hall—including the removal of the wooden exit stairs on the Shaker Drive side as well as the interior stairs closest to Fellowship Hall
