It was a great joy and privilege to present The Amazing Grace Race musical with about 40 Logos K-5 children (including a special appearance by the preschoolers). We are especially thankful to The Band – Jennifer Seinfeld (pianist and “band leader”), Andrew Exner (bass guitar), and Don Wade (drums); our Sound Tech, Neil Danzig and his effects assistant Rick Mills; our cast “cuers” Carrie Jenkins and Liz Perraud; the many choir helpers; and finally, Don Wade and the middle school students who created our banner.
There are many amazing (no pun intended) moments throughout musical season. Without fail, the best part is the Sunday presentation itself, when every single child gives his or her best for God and the result is an uplifting and memorable message for people of all ages.
This year we had an unexpected bonus moment Wednesday night at Harmony Hall, when in the last scene we discovered a missing prop (pair of running shoes). Rather than panicking or falling apart, the cast resolved the problem with teamwork (one cast member took off her shoes in the middle of the scene) and humor. Even though the cast, choir, and audience broke out in giggles, the kids successfully and energetically finished the scene and final song, and once again shared a wonderful message.
