The elders and deacons of CMPC held their annual retreat the weekend of March 18-19 at the church. The retreat, which is traditionally held in January, was postponed to March to allow the Ad Hoc Visioning committee more time to complete the visioning process and put together a report—which became the focus for the weekend.
The group gathered at 9:00 am Saturday morning and began with opening worship and a team-building exercise. The members of the Ad Hoc Visioning committee then arrived to present the report that had been emailed to the officers the Thursday prior. Time was set aside for Q and A with the committee members during and after the presentation.
The committee was then dismissed with gratitude for the hard work and dedication they had put in over the last year and the officers took some time to debrief with one another in small groups before lunch was served.
After lunch Pastor Scott asked for any feedback/insights from the debrief and then closed with prayer.
Following worship on Sunday the group resumed with lunch in the Trinity Room. Following lunch more time was given to any overall questions or insights and then the two boards separated to hold their monthly meetings.
