Important note: Our general contractors, Whiting Turner, have implemented a policy that anyone visiting the church (for any reason other than the preschool) Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm must sign in with someone in the field office (in the old church office) before moving about the building or grounds. If no one is in the office when you arrive please wait for someone to return. At times our general contractors will be out of the office and in the field interfacing with the sub-contractors. Thank you for your compliance!
Here’s what has happened in the last week:
- Most of the holes in the sanctuary ceiling have been patched
- The drywall throughout the rest of the sanctuary has been hung and is being taped and mudded
- The roof trusses for the new entrance were delivered and installed
- The windows for the new entrance were installed
- The footers for the new addition were poured and the cinder block walls are going up
- The curbs for the new driveway were poured
- The new HVAC units have been installed in the rooms underneath fellowship hall
- Two-thirds of the ceilings outside the fellowship hall that contain asbestos have been removed
Here’s what is scheduled to happen in the next week (or so):
- Work will continue on finishing the ceiling in the sanctuary
- Drywall work will continue in the sanctuary
- New lights will be installed in the sanctuary
- The roof membrane will be installed on the new entrance
- Waterproofing will be added to the new Shaker Drive addition walls
- The steel beams and columns will be installed in the new Shaker Drive addition
- Asbestos abatement will continue outside fellowship hall
- A new construction entrance will be cut in off of Shaker Drive
