For May’s GIFT (Generations in Faith Together) event, Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church will be working with Stop Hunger Now to package 20,000 meals (twice as many as last year!) All are welcome to participate.
This year, our event will have two shifts: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Each shift has 60 volunteer openings. To sign up for a volunteer shift, please visit http://events.stophungernow.org/ChristMemorialPres2016.
The assembly process combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and a flavoring mix that includes 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages. The meals are shipped throughout the world to support school feeding programs, orphanages, and crisis relief. The food is stored easily, transported quickly, and has a shelf-life of two years.
