February GIFT

CMPC folks and friends: We’ve decided to err on the side of safety and “who knows WHAT is going to happen with the weather tonight” and cancel the Movie Night. No immediate plans to reschedule but maybe for a get-together this summer.

Mark your calendar for these upcoming GIFT events:

Sunday, March 25: A Study of Esther
Saturday, April 21: Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing (registration opening soon)
Sunday, May 6: Godly Play

GIFT Movie Night
February 17, 5:30
The next GIFT (Generations In Faith Together) gathering will be held on Saturday, February 17 in Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:30pm. This multi-generational event is a Movie Night and includes dinner and discussion. We will be showing two movies allowing you to choose which to attend and discuss.

The Resurrection of Gavin Stone (PG): A washed-up star, forced to do community service at a local megachurch, pretends to be a Christian to land the part of Jesus in their annual Passion Play only to discover that the most important role of his life is far from Hollywood. This is a lighthearted story of finding one’s way in life and ultimate acceptance of who people are, and where they are in life.

Matilda (PG): Matilda is an American children’s fantasy comedy based on Roald Dahl’s book about a young genius named Matilda who uses her special powers to deal with her unkind parents and the oppressive principal of her school. Mara Wilson won a Young Star Award for Best Performance by a Young Actress for her role as Matilda.

There is no charge for this event but we need an RSVP to gift@cmpcusa.org by Feb 16 so we know how much pizza, salad and popcorn to buy. Bring your own lawn chair or sleeping bag. Bring friends! There will be child care for our youngest ones, as needed. The GIFT event should end around 8pm.
