September Session Summary

At the September 19th meeting of the Session Pastor Scott Hoffman provided an update on the Ministry Expansion plan status and in the process reminded the Session that CMPC is coming up on the one-year anniversary of the 2015 capital campaign. Pastor Scott also shared that he and Bob Jenkins, chair of the Ministry Expansion committee, hope to meet soon with Howard County Executive Allen Kittleman to share our plans.

Pastor Scott then shared that once the Session comes to a mortgage loan decision in conjunction with a Presbytery committee, information will be shared with the congregation and a vote will be held.  Afterward, the Presbytery will have final approval before church representatives sign any official documents as the Presbytery will be securing any loan that is taken.

Pastor Hoffman further reported that we are in good shape regarding an anticipated budget overage by the Property Committee, thanks to contributions of funds from three church committees and the fact that no taxes will be due on the Brown property as originally budgeted since the county has agreed to reclassify its use as church property.

As always, the meeting was closed with prayer after a time of sharing joys and concerns.

Respectfully submitted: Janene Holzberg, Clerk of Session
