The Session voted to make masks optional in the church building until further notice to align with Howard County government and school system policies, while pledging to respond to any pertinent updates to covid-19 guidance that may occur. Masks will still be required in the nursery.
In other business:
- The Christ Memorial Christian Preschool board recently voted to support optional masking for the 2022-2023 school year since their students are eligible for vaccines this summer, a move the Session’s updated policy supports.
- Talks continue with contractors and consultants on identifying the cause of high humidity in the Sanctuary that forced removal of Bibles from the pews and the ongoing use of dehumidifiers. Bible readings are being printed in the worship service bulletin in the meantime.
- Households will soon be asked to participate in one-on-one interviews as part of the first phase of the churchwide visioning process to determine CMPC’s current and future priorities by year’s end. Details to come.
