Here’s what has happened in the last week:
- Demolition continues for the new entrance and stair tower
- New lights were installed by the exits
- The concrete pad was poured for the new sanctuary HVAC unit
- Work began on installing the sprinklers in the sanctuary
- The insulation and soffit was installed under the Fellowship Hall overhang (under the “porch”)
- New ducts were installed in the old air handler room
- A new temporary heating system was installed (and will be replaced by another new unit)
Here’s what is scheduled to happen in the next week (or so):
- Power will be off to the church on Tuesday (February 19) as BGE makes the switch over to our new transformer
- Electrical work continues
- Skim coating of the sanctuary ceiling will continue
- The lights above the old “porch” outside Fellowship Hall will be replaced
- Work will begin on the water main project along Shaker Drive (which will provide our new water service)
- The work on the foundation for the new stair tower will continue
- The new sanctuary HVAC unit will be delivered (delayed from this week to next due to the ground being too soft for the crane)
- The new windows for the fellowship hall end of the building are scheduled to be delivered and installed
