The session met via Zoom on the evening of Monday, May 18th. The following was discussed and/or decided at the meeting.
A motion to extend the closure of the church building (including for worship) through June 15 was unanimously approved. The Session will meet on that date, if not before, to reassess any changes.
Other announcements:
- The PC(USA) General Assembly scheduled to take place in Baltimore from June 19 to 27 will instead be held as a virtual conference.
- Bob Clemens, chair of the Finance Committee, announced the church has received a loan from the second round of the federal Paycheck Protection Program. In order to possibly be forgiven, the loan must be used within 8 weeks to pay staff (church and preschool) and has other rigid stipulations on usage. The Session thanks the finance committee and church bookkeeper Annette Hinkle for their hard work.
- Pastor Hoffman announced the formation of a nine-member reopening task force to create an orderly and safe plan to be put in place whenever current restrictions are lifted.
