Here’s what has happened in the last week:
- The openings left by the removal of the downstairs windows have been filled in, insulated, and closed up with drywall (save the spaces where the new windows will be installed)
- The skylight in the sanctuary was framed out
- The overhang around the downstairs perimeter of fellowship hall has been framed out and is awaiting insulation and the installation of a new soffit
- The new wall of the old committee room/new fellowship hall storage was framed out (though it will be moved)
- Drywall was hung on the one side of the wall separating the new electrical room from the new pastor’s office
- The flagstone was removed from outside the doors off the parking lot
- The new stage in fellowship hall was framed out
- The skim coat work in the sanctuary continues
- Electrical work continues—including the work required to relocate the electrical panel from the old kitchen into the old committee room
- Some work has been done to prep for the pouring of the concrete pad on which the new HVAC unit for the sanctuary will sit
Here’s what is scheduled to happen in the next week (or so):
- Electrical work continues
- Skim coating of the sanctuary ceiling will continue
- The columns around the perimeter of the sanctuary will be drywalled in
- Demolition will continue for the new entrance and stair tower and the foundations for this new addition will be built (weather permitting)
