Discussion on Race and Racism

The Christian Education Committee would like to thank those that participated in our first discussion on race and racism in America. There was clearly a need for this conversation in our church community and while it’s not an easy one to have, we must continue to educate and understand the plight of our brown/black brothers and sisters in Christ.

Based on feedback from the initial conversation, three dates and corresponding topics have been set; feel free to join one or all of them. There is related reading material(s) to review prior to each conversation, simply to help facilitate the discussion.

Christopher and Nileena Woodland have offered to continue facilitating this conversation.

This is open to friends and family of CMPC members, but as before, please ensure that all attendees can follow these ground rules for discussion:

We are all children of God so let’s treat each other that way
Be respectful of differing opinions
Come with an open mind and open heart
Listen with the intention to understand; not necessarily to reply
