Holy Week and Easter information

Maundy Thursday

April 5, 2012

Join us the evening of Thursday, April 5, at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, for a special Maundy Thursday meal and service. We will gather together to break bread as we enjoy a simple soup supper and then share the sacrament of communion at our dinner tables. It promises to be a meaningful time of celebration and remembrance as we eat together and worship together. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please RSVP to the church office ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 410-997-8011) so we can plan accordingly.

Easter Sunday

April 8, 2012

Sunrise Service

Bright and early on Easter Sunday morning we will gather to worship the Risen Son as the sun rises. Weather permitting we will worship outdoors in the beauty of God’s creation beginning at 6:30 a.m. All are welcome to join in this simple and powerful worship experience. The service will be moved indoors in the event of inclement weather. Come dressed for the weather. We hope to see you there!

10:30 Worship

Come one, come all, to worship on Easter Sunday morning when we will pull out all the stops to bring our worship to the Risen Lord. The Spirit will be moving as we gather to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Assisted by symphony brass and timpani, including our traditional closing response with the Hallelujah Chorus,

Our music will soar! You will not want to miss this opportunity to worship and return thanks! Come, add your voice to the millions gathered around the world to celebrate the blessed day as we unite our voices in song: Christ the Lord is risen today! Alleluia!

Easter Egg Hunt

All children are invited to participate in an Easter egg hunt immediately following worship on Easter Sunday morning. Weather permitting the hunt will be held outside. If the weather does not cooperate we will move the fun inside. Make your plans now to join in the fun!

Sunday Worship (10:30 am)

Our weekly worship follows a traditional format with the addition of some contemporary music. Singing choirs of all ages, hand bells, choir chimes, puppets, and drama are featured on various Sundays. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.

Children in Worship

We welcome children in worship! Children’s worship bulletins are available each Sunday and Children’s Worship Kits are available by request. Each kit contains crayons, pen, pencil, tissues, paper and instructions for how to use the kit. This is a wonderful tool for teaching your child to become a participant in worship, not just an observer.

Parents have the option of keeping their children with them during the entire service or having them begin in worship and then leave for their "Sunday Experience" in the classrooms downstairs (Labor Day-Memorial Day). Each week, we invite the children forward during worship for a message designed to particularly enhance the worship time for our youngest attenders.

Children and older youth lead regularly in our worship services through our LOGOS ministry as singing choirs, hand chimes, drama, puppets and band.

Childcare

During worship, childcare is provided for those younger than kindergarten to be used as needed.

Choirs

We always welcome new people to join our choirs! The Trinity Choir (for adults and high school youth) rehearses on Thursday evenings. The Bells of Joy adult hand bell choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings. Please contact CMPC Director of Music Joy Exner at (410) 997-8011 for more information.

Our children and youth choirs (and other worship arts groups) for kindergartners through high school rehearse on Wednesday evenings as part of our LOGOS ministry.
